Course Description
Master of Philosophy in Education (Educational Psychology)
EDCU7050 Current Issues in Education
This course provides students with insights into the nature of education as a profession and the links between theoretical developments and educational practice. It covers key ideas and contemporary research in foundational themes in education, including educational psychology, early childhood education and child development, curriculum and instruction, educational technology, physical education and sport studies, educational administration, and related fields. Students will have the opportunity to interact with leading experts across subfields of education, and demonstrate an awareness of current issues in these areas. Through thorough and conscientious participation, students will be able to articulate trends in current issues in education, identify the significance of educational research, engage in debate for controversial issues in an empirically grounded and theoretically sophisticated manner, and express informed opinions in writing.

EDUC7051 Qualitative Methods, Data Management, and Analysis in Educational Research
This course is designed to provide students with comprehensive training in qualitative research methods as applied to educational contexts. Through a combination of lectures and hands-on activities, students will develop practical skills in research design, data management, and analytic techniques specific to qualitative research in education. Emphasis will be placed on the use of specialized software for data management and analysis.

EDUC7052 Quantitative Methods, Data Management, and Analysis in Educational Research

EDUC7190 Thesis
This course provides an opportunity for students to do research work in relevant fields with the aim of strengthening their abilities of conducting empirical research under supervision. Academic norms should be abided by and creative scholarship and originally are required.
EDUC7401 Educational and Psychological Measurement
Students will gain an introductory understanding of the fundamental concepts, principles, and techniques in educational and psychological measurement. The course encompasses various topics, including reliability, validity, scale evaluation, and test bias. Its objective is to furnish students with a solid foundation for evaluating scales in research and practical applications.

EDUC7402 Psychology of Learning
TThis course introduces psychological theories pertinent to the learning of students, and current views of how people learn. Particular focus is placed on linking theories to classroom situations. Topics included are: behavioristic, information- processing, constructivist, and humanistic theories of learning.

EDUC7403 Advanced Developmental Psychology
This course delves into a comprehensive exploration of theories, research, and key concepts in the field of developmental psychology. Building upon foundational knowledge, this advanced-level course offers an in-depth analysis of child development, including cognitive, emotional, and social aspects. Students will critically examine current research findings and theories while exploring the practical applications of developmental psychology in various contexts.

EDUC7455 Supporting Students with Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties
Emotional and behavioral difficulties can significantly impact a student’s ability to engage in the learning process, maintain positive relationships, and reach their full potential. This course aims to deepen participants’ understanding of the underlying causes and manifestations of these difficulties, while offering practical approaches to help students develop emotional regulation, selfmanagement, and social skills. Throughout the course, participants will explore various theoretical frameworks and evidence-based practices to identify and respond to emotional and behavioral difficulties in students of different ages and diverse backgrounds.
